# Manually Update

You can manually update FileBird with these 2 simple steps:

1. First, you need to **"deactivate"** and **"delete"** FileBird old/lite version.
2. Then, **"install"** the updated new version of the plugin and that’s it!

**Note:**

If you follow these steps to installing new updates, then all your currently active settings and created **folders from the old version would be preserved** and restored.
